Loanworks Lending completes largest ever RMBS transaction, upsizing Blackwattle program to $3.5 billion since inception
Sydney-based lender Loanworks Lending has successfully completed its seventh public residential mortgage-backed securitisation (RMBS) transaction, raising $850 million — the largest deal undertaken under its Blackwattle RMBS program to date.
The transaction marks a significant milestone in the program’s growth since its inaugural issuance in 2021, with Blackwattle RMBS No. 7 attracting strong support from 23 investors across Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Japan.
The deal takes total issuance under the Blackwattle program to more than $3.5 billion, underpinning the continued growth of Loanworks’ mortgage portfolio, which is approaching $3.0 billion on the back of record new loan originations.
Loanworks CEO Satish Chand said the result reflected sustained momentum across the business.
“Our underlying mortgage portfolio has continued to grow with the excellent support of our introducers and staff,” Mr Chand said.
“Consistency in our origination volumes enables a regular cadence of Blackwattle transactions, which helps build investor knowledge and confidence in our program. The primary benefit is that Blackwattle transactions provide access to improved funding costs, which enables us to continue offering more competitive loans through our network of introducers.”
