Peter James

Director

Peter James has spent his entire career turning simple ideas into groundbreaking innovations for the mortgage industry.

In 1985, alongside close friend James Christie, he blazed the trail to bring home buyers a competitive alternative to the big banks, founding Resi Mortgage Corporation. As Managing Director, he led the branding and development of the organisation and created a culture that supported franchisees, and enabled staff to work efficiently to achieve their targets and goals.

Today Peter uses his innovator’s mind to continue delivering pioneering mortgage solutions. As a Director of Sintex, he guides the organisation, employing his 43 years’ experience in the industry to ensure the company remains a market leader.
Throughout his career, Peter has served in Director level roles for various aggregator and broker entities in the finance industry, as well as in the technology, education and livestock industries. In 2010, he completed a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking).

Ben Binder

Director

A 40-year veteran of the software and IT industries, Ben specialises in mortgage originations and telecommunication billing.

Ben has spent 24 years with Loanworks, turning complex, technical computer programming into simple and effective software solutions that benefit the entire mortgage industry.

In fact, Ben was one of the founders of Loanworks Technologies, along with Peter James, James Christie and Andrew Duerden, back In 1998. Together they developed loan origination and processing software that eventually became the world’s first fully automated straight-through processing digital origination solution.

Since those early days, Ben has continued to use his highly technical skills and deep knowledge of financial software and computer programming to take Loanworks from strength to strength. As Director of Software, he spearheads the development of industry-leading products and services that not only improve efficiency and profitability for financial businesses, but which also improve the customer experience. He also plays a strategic role in shaping the future direction of the company.

Satish Chand

Chief Executive Officer

Satish is focussed on ensuring that every part of the organisation — the team, processes, products and services — is aligned with Loanworks’ mission to deliver simple, ground-breaking solutions for lenders, aggregators and originators.

He ensures that people are firmly at the centre of our operations. As well as overseeing customer and industry partnerships and managing stakeholder relationships, he’s committed to creating a workplace culture where staff thrive and are empowered to live up to Loanworks’ corporate values.

Over 33 years in the industry, Satish has held a variety of senior, structured capital markets finance roles at large commercial organisations, including NAB, Westpac and Yamaha..

Satish holds an Executive MBA from the University of New South Wales (AGSM) and Sydney Business School (University of Sydney), a Business Commerce degree from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance. He’s a Fellow of FINSIA and a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Urvesh Vibhakar

General Manager, Customer Growth

As Loanworks’ General Manager of Customer Growth, Urvesh manages each and every customer solution – from presale to final handover. He ensures everything is delivered to Loanworks’ impeccable standards.

Working shoulder to shoulder with clients, he facilitates workshops to capture and define client requirements, designs tailor-made technical solutions to meet those requirements, and then works closely with his team to manage and deliver the solution efficiently and accurately.

Urvesh has spent 18 years with Loanworks and is well respected in the industry, having amassed experience in a range of roles, including software developer, business analyst and lecturer at the Engineering College in Bangalore.

Urvesh holds a Master of Information Systems from the Central Queensland University, a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Engineering from Information Technology India. He is also a certified PRINCE2 Practitioner, a certified Scrum Master and Agile Practitioner.

Chris Mitchell

General Manager, Solution Delivery

For Chris Mitchell, quality isn’t just a checkbox—it’s a mindset. As General Manager of Solution Delivery at Loanworks, Chris is passionate about building software that not only meets client expectations but consistently exceeds them. His approach is deeply collaborative, working hand-in-hand with clients to understand their goals and ensure his development team delivers solutions that are robust, reliable, and ready for the real world.

Chris brings 20+ years of experience in the software industry, including 3 years at Loanworks. His journey began in hands-on development, where he built business-critical systems for investment banks in Europe. Over time, his role evolved from programmer to IT & Development manager, and now to a strategic leadership position where he bridges the gap between technical teams and client needs.

What sets Chris apart is his ability to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable outcomes—always with a focus on quality, timeliness, and long-term value. His leadership style is grounded in trust, transparency, and a genuine commitment to helping both his team and clients succeed.
Chris holds a Bachelor of IT from Griffith University and continues to be a lifelong learner, always looking for ways to improve processes, empower people, and deliver better outcomes.

Steve Achilleos

Cloud & Infrastructure Manager

As the Cloud and Infrastructure Manager, Steve brings more than 30 years of experience in information technology, including over 25 years within the mortgage and financial services industry. With deep domain knowledge and a practical, outcomes‑driven approach. He is responsible for designing, operating, and continuously improving the cloud and infrastructure platforms that underpin Loanworks’ critical systems and services.

Throughout his career, Steve has led the delivery of secure, resilient, and scalable technology environments, supporting business growth, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. His expertise spans cloud architecture, infrastructure modernisation, high availability and disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and vendor management, with a strong focus on aligning technology with business objectives.

Steve has worked across a wide range of mortgage technology ecosystems and understands the unique challenges of data protection, system reliability, and service continuity in a highly regulated environment. He is passionate about building robust platforms that enable innovation while maintaining stability and trust.
At Loanworks, Steve plays a key role in ensuring the technology foundation is secure, future‑ready, and capable of supporting clients, partners, and internal teams with confidence.

Marvin Agabin

Country Manager, Outsourced Services

Marvin Agabin has dedicated his career – spanning over 25 years – to leading and supporting teams to deliver outstanding service.

In his current role as country manager for loan processing, Marvin develops and implements strategies and programs to empower the service delivery and loan processing teams to work effectively and productively.

He also ensures optimal financial, social, and physical resource allocation, management, and quality standards for effective implementation of the organisation’s strategic plan and mission, as well as monitoring and reporting on progress. Plus he leads the team in seamlessly delivering loan processing services, and regularly checks in with clients to address any concerns and review their progress.

During his 11 years at Loanworks, Marvin has gained a thorough grounding in the company’s operations, adding great value in roles including service delivery manager, business analyst and team leader for business services, technical services, and customer service professional.

Prior to joining Loanworks, he held team leader positions at various business process outsourcing companies.

Marvin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture from the University of Santo Tomas.
